A non-vegan would see an egg in the wild, and think that it is for them to use. That is the root cause of the problem that veganism tackles. Veganism is about rejecting the false belief that animals are commodities, objects, slaves, or vending machines for human use. It is wrong to use an animal (or their byproducts) REGARDLESS of whether they suffered or not, as the animals are individuals who deserve respect and freedom from humans.
Veganism is the principle that humanity should live without exploiting animals.
